When should you have your labour and hospital bags packed? | Preparing for a Newborn Baby - Baby, Pregnancy & Maternity Products - Parent Packs, Australia

When should you have your labour and hospital bags packed?

At Parent Packs, we suggest you have your labour and hospital bags packed 2 months prior to your due date. This will help you stay relaxed and feel prepared for birth.

We know that logistically this can cause a few issues with items that you want to pack but are still using in the two months leading up to your due date. We advise that where possible just double up – for example just buy the extra toothbrush and toothpaste for your hospital bag. We know you could save a few dollars if you didn’t do this, but the fact is that you can still get full use out of the toothbrush and toothpaste after your stay in hospital. The alternative option of having an extra checklist to review with your final packing items when your labour contractions are 3 minutes apart really isn’t a logical alternative!!

Parent Packs have created a comprehensive Baby Checklist which outlines the essential items you need for labour and your hospital stay. Check out Parent Packs' Baby Checklist.

To make your preparations even easier, Parent Packs have created pre-packed Maternity Packs.  To get your started there is our Basic Hospital Pack, or if you want to get off to a better start, check out our Deluxe Hospital Pack.
